Christmas Dame Costume

( University project)

For this project the brief was to work in a team to construct a dame costume for a host on a tv Christmas special. It was to be worn during a comedic sketch and needed to be changed out of quickly.

The theme of the costume was a banquet, and with the sketch taking place in December a Christmas dinner was the appropriate inspiration for this costume.

The costume was created alongside fellow costumers Eleanor Potter, Sian Green and Abigail Moore.

The costume consisted of a Christmas pudding skirt supported by a crinoline, patchwork padded bodice, Brussel sprout boobs,  cracker shaped sleeves, platter neckpiece, and lastly a turkey hat.

This costume was created during a covid lockdown, therefore we weren't able to construct the costume together in the same room until the end. Despite this we worked well as a team, and good communication meant the costume seamlessly came together at the end.
